Three awesome moments in my life

Daft Punk in SUE 2006

I love music, it's my companion everyday at every moment, I've got a lot of music in my external hard drive, a lot! but I haven't gone to many concerts, because are expensive and hate the colective hysteria. However are 3 of them that deserve to be mentioned.

My first awesome (!) concert was of Daft Punk in the SUE (Santiago Urbano Electrónico) 2006, I was 17 years old and I wnet with a classmate of school, her nickname is Sheko, but her name is Constanza. When I remembered that show I get excited. It was so perfect, the lights, the staging and music playing very strong. They're a great band and I'm waiting for their since that time, but they've never came back :(

The other great concert was of Depeche mode on 2010, it was in the equestrian club so the place wasn't good, but it was amazing. I went with two friends, Amancai and Lorena, my best scout boss and very good friend. We arrived very early and we was waiting for hours, but when they began to play I was very excited and when they played "Enjoy the silence" I almost cried.

The 3rd very special concert was the last year and I went with a very special person to me. It was of Jorge Drexler and it was special because we was so well together and I was so in love that the music was like the most sublime thing in the world. Today is a memory of better days :(

Zodiac

I was born in 1989 therefore I'm a Snake in chinese zodiac.

The web site says that the snakes are intelligent, graceful and materialistic persons. We're very analytical and we don't take risks whe we need make decisions, for that we hace our chart to do the things right. I think that it's so true, is completely applicable to me. I'm a very rational person and it´s really hard for me listen my heart and take its advice.

Regarding the other stuffs it seems very nearly to my personality, I work very hard for the thing that I want, but I get bore easily. I'm very diligente and yes, I admit, I'm jealous and posesive.

In the star zodiac I'm leo, because I was born at july 25th  and often say about of my sign that we're very passionate with our couples and jobs, we heat everything around us. We're bossy and innate leaders, but also say that we always do the mandates of the heart, that's a contradiction to me.

I think that astrology shows to us general characteristics than often seems true and yes, it's like a very general photography about our personality, but I think that the horoscopo is a joke or maybe I've never read one serious, I believe that is a way to make believe us something to leave our lifes consitionally, if you believe in that words.

Flash Christmas

This Christmas was very special. I don’t like too much Christmas because I’m not Christian and it’s so commercial, the principal idea vanishes. But this one it was really beautiful because I shared with my family and friends of. Moreover my nephew, Renato,  arrived from Paris recently and he’s the sun of my life!

We spent Christmas in the house of the girlfriend of my brother, Renato’s dad. It’s in Peñalolen at the foot of the hill, so Santiago looked very beautiful at night.

That night we ate a delicious starter with shrimps with lemon, then we had a buffet of meat, chicken a lot of salads, rice and mashed. For the desert we had tiramisu, fruit salads and a strange desert of maracuyá, like a pudding.  We drank beer, wine and a drink with tequila and strawberries or pineapple. That one it was really delicious and helps you to get drunk quickly.

This year the vijieto pascuero was very austere, it must be my age,       but he gave me beautiful things and very useful, like a subwoofer, clothes, facial creams (at 22 years old is necessary use that things), towels and like every year a big box of chocolates ¡ñam!

My childhood Cristmas

My childhood was an extraordinary stage of my life. I lived in a little city in north of Chile, La Serena. Life in that place is so peaceful, at least for a child.

As a littler girl that I was, I expected Christmas every year. The first days of December my dad, my mom, my two brothers and I went to buy a Christmas tree, it was a pine, a big pine branch, and then in home, we planted in a bucket and then we armed the christmas tree.

The night of 25 of December we had dinner with some friends or just with our core family ezactly at 10 o’clock and we used to have a long after-dinner conversation until the 12 am, that’s the hour that “el viejito pascuero” (Santa claus is too distant to me) supposed arrive to give our gifts. So we take a ride to try to see him, and when we were leaving the house my dad got sick, he always said "I’ve got a terrible stomach ache, I can’t go with you, I really need go to the bathroom”, but the treachery of the moment made that pass. When we back to the house el viejito had gone through the house, year after year, it was always the same, I remember that one night I cried for it, but my parents always thank the way to make smile again. After all that paraphernalia we sat in a circle around our beautiful tree y open our presents. It was a awesome date J   

The most important thing in life

I want to talk about something that I was thinking in the metro.

It’s about the really important thing in life. Today my uncle was operated of a stomach cancer and for my mom, my grand mom and me were terrible hours. He’s a country person and therefore he’s poor, so he was operated in public system. Each 2 hours a nurse coming to said us “ he’s still in pavilion, it’s a complicated surgery, be patient” and that was all. The distress of today was exhausting for body and soul and made me think about a lot of things, but mainly in the family. This Uncle isn’t dad but he’s like a father to my mom and her cousins and is like my grandfather, so I think in the dedication that he was put on our family,  in all the work that he always did for every one of us. My mom had never been the same without the uncle Lucho’s help, and therefore maybe I wouldn’t be here.  So I think that the family and the careful of every integrant is an important value that all of us need to cultivate, after all the family never left you. Like said Lilo in the movie Lilo & Stich: “Ohana means family and family means that nobody gets left behind…or forgotten”  

Finally I want to ay that I’m really really grateful with my parents to save me to the public health system and to give me the opportunity to study. Nothing in this world can pay that! Thank you Mom and Dad!

Our first productive field trip

There are a lot of photos that I like, but this is recent, is of last field trip to Cáhuil, south of Pichilemu and we went to work for cultural geography.
In this photo appear my dearest university friends, Belén and Tami but lack Marion, the photographer.

It was taken in the boundary of our study area, but this area it was wrong because we didn’t see the jetty that it was like a 200 meters beyond, and it was an important place to the people of Cáhuil. The funniest it was that we realized three days later, when we did the final presentation in the field trip.

I like this photo because is and it will be a beautiful memory of a serious work on a field trip, it was very exhausting,  but also productive. I love this work because I felt that will be my job in the future and it was very exciting.    

the pawpaw land

If you answer “where the pawpaws from?” every Chilean response “it comes from La Serena”. Actually it comes from Elqui Valley, but it’s marketed in La Serena.

La Serena was founded in 1944 by Juan Bohón and in 1549 the Diaguitas burned it dying almost all people, mainly Spanish. The same year Pedro de Valdivia with Francisco de Aguirre found it again.

Their arquitecture is very particular, because is considered like a style of architecture and it calls Serena Style. Consist in a serie of elements architectural atypical improper to a sismic country. But emphasize the material for the constructions, was used the Piedra Serena that came from a nearly quarry.

The people in La Serena is really quiet, they take their time for everything. It must be the proximity to the beach, one of the best bays in Chile. Also is so close to the Elqui Valley that it’s the best place in the world to rest, think, to connect with ourselves.

The main economic activity it should be the agriculture thank to their fertile valley, but there will be another important economic activity, I think that the tourism is relevant for La Serena because is the city that receive a lot of tourist both who are going to the north as who want to visit Elqui Valley or Coquimbo o La Serena.

I was born in La Serena and I lived until 7 years old. One of the things that I hated when I lived there it was when the tourists arrived, they filled up the Centre, the beach, the supermarket and got dirty everywhere. Summer is a difficult time to a small town. But I always loved went to Elqui Valley every weekend with my family, I think that place is unique and magical. I really really recommend it.
