Rachel Carson: the woman of the environment awareness

Rachel Carson was born on May 27th of 1907, in Springdale, Pennsylvania. She grew up on a country environment.
She wanted to be a professional writer, for that she studied English, but she gave up because she thought she hadn’t imagination to write.
Then, she began to study science and in 1929 she graduated with honors. After that she studied a master in zoology and she taught in the University of Maryland. For that years she studied the ocean and its life forms. For long years she worked writing books, the most popular published in 1962 and it’s called “Silent Spring” in which she talk about the harmful effects of the pesticides. Carson questioned the position of the industries to contaminate without consideration with the environment. In 1969 the USA government ruled the use of pesticides. Regrettably she didn’t see her contribution to the environment because she died in 1964 by a breast cancer.

Rio Bueno

I love to travel, is one of the things I love more in the whole world and I hate santiago, so this contradictory feelings have taken me to meet a lot of places and I can define what I like more, I love the coast, but I love lakes more. I have three favorites lakes-beaches, playa blanca in Caburga Lake, Rio Bueno in Ranco lake and Llifen-Futrono in Ranco lake too. But I’m going to talk about  Rio bueno.
Rio bueno beach is in the rivers region in the south of chile. Is in the source of the Bueno River, so you can enjoy a lake beach and a river. I went with my mom in a holiday that we visit to my aunt in la Union in 2009 just after the journey I told you before, that one with my friends of scout.  We spent like an hour driving but the landscape it was so beautiful that the trip was very short.
When we arrived I put my towel on the black sand and I went to swim, I swam like one hour and half. I love swim.
I like it because is a great landscape, their water is warm and so clean, you can see the bottom covered with rocks, actually I lost my orange hairgrip and I can found it. Besides it’s a quiet place, there aren’t so much people and also motorboat that makes so much noise. Is a good place to rest, to sleep and read.

A guilty pleasure

I’m not a big friend of internet, I told you before, but there are some web sites I like, one of them are.. it was..  cuevana, you can see a lot of movies without moving of your house, every Sunday I used to saw movies or a chapter of my favorites series  after lunch. But now is so bad, when megaupload died, cuevana died too.
other web site I like is taringa… if you need a antivirus you find it… if you need some album of your favourite band you ca find it… if you need some crack, you find it… it’s amazing! But now is more difficult find some things, because megaupload died.
but I have to recognize I like so much facebook, I discovered in 2008 when I came in to my first year of university, a classmate told me about this site. At the beginning I used it just for fun, the surveys were so funny, like “what Barbie are you?” I was Barbara, the copy of Barbie.
I visit every day but now the use changed in the last year, now is a powerful tool to be communicated with the world, my world. I coordinate the bigger part of my activities. I think the greatest thing of facebook is the capacity of meet all your friends in the same place at the same time. Other thing I like is you can upload photos, I love see photos of my friends on their trip fields or their parties, generally people upload happy photos or of relevant things, like beautiful landscapes or the photo of the last protest, that is a good thing.

Cartoon movies

When I was a child I lived in La Serena and in that small city there aren’t cinemas. But once in the municipal theater set up a big screen and showed Toy Story. I went with my grandmother and my cousins Pablo, Andrea and Alexandra who lived in Santiago and they went to La Serena on every holiday that they can. I don’t remember very well about the film, but I remember the experience, it was my first time of that kind and I was very happy.
I have to say I didn’t see a lot of movies when I was a child, because I don’t know I preferred play in the street with my friends or went to the beach. But when I grew up I started to enjoy more movies. At 13 years old I saw my favorite cartoon movie, “Finding Nemo” I guffawed for hours and every time I see I laugh in the same way.  When Dory speaks whale I died XD
Other cartoon movie I love is “Rio” maybe I like it so much because I love Brazil, is an amazing country. I love the colors in that movie and the story is very funny.

Petren Hueinelatue ... Erkitue!
When I was 13 years I came in on scout, in the group of the Instituto Nacional, the oldest group in Chile. In 2009 I had my best camp,I went with three friends and teammates and two guides also good friend. We went to a Mapuche community in the sector of Melipeuco, near to Llaima volcano. We spent 4 days in that place, it was amazing! Very beautiful, very magical, the sky at night it was unbelievable, you can see a shooting star at every moment. After that, we went to Villarica and we camped in the shore of the lake. When we arrived to the camping it was full and in the night a storm started and it was getting worse at every minute, we armed our tent very well, because every scout knows that a tent well-armed it never won’t leak, and we decided go to sleep. The next day we woke up and all people have left the camping, we were the only.

After Villarica we went to Valdivia and we visited the Saval Park when it was celebrating the beerfest of Kunstmann a typical beer of Valdivia… it’s so delicious!  The Saval Park are very special, there’re a lot of endemic vegetation called “Bosque Relicto” very slender in the world.
When we arrived to Valdivia we found the “Valdivian Week” and that night was playing “la Noche”, the “cumbia” group.
After that we went to Paillaco to a place that I can’t remember how we arrived, in the middle of the forest, that experience was amazing, but we were scare for the pumas and the river was very cold.  We stayed 4 days there and we came back to Santiago.

One of the part I don’t like of the trips are have to come back to Santiago, because I don’t like this city… it’s the sad part of the journeys.
